About Jefferson Childcare

About Us

Our Story

The Jefferson Child Care and Education Center was incorporated in 1974 as a private nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization, in response to the need for high quality, affordable and developmentally appropriate child care services.

Since 1983, the Center has provided Before and After Kindergarten Care, Before and After School Care, and Summer Camp.  The Before and After Care and Summer Camp are located in the Jefferson Township School buildings.

In 2007-2008 Infant and Toddler programs were added.

Today we provide child care services to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age.  In addition to child care services, we offer parent education programs to enrolled families.

The Center is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

In 2008 we received accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in recognition for meeting the NAEYC standards for quality child care.

We participate in Grow NJ Kids, a state-sponsored initiative to raise the quality of child care and early learning thought New Jersey.  This Quality Rating Improvement System is a way to access, improve, and communicate the level of quality child care and early education throughout the state.  We are committed to make our program even better through training and other incentives.
